Day 2 - Explore Bustling Berlin Connect with Locals
Explore an iconic landmark of Berlin during an experience at the Berlin TV Tower, you'll enjoy inspiring 360° views of the city and Spree River. See the Neo-Renaissance Reichstag, the Tiergarten, Brandenburg Gate and Unter den Linden with a Local Specialist during your included sightseeing tour. Day 3 - Off to Dresden
A short drive south brings us to Dresden, the ‘Florence on the Elbe', where we'll hear about the city's restoration following its devastation during World War II as you admire its beautiful Baroque façades. See the Semper Opera, Zwinger Palace and the fully reconstructed Frauenkirche. Consider delving into the treasures of Dresden, joining an Optional Experience to explore this elegant city.

Day 4 - Venture to Historic Nuremberg
Visit the village of Mödlareuth, which inherited the moniker of 'Little Berlin' due to its wall separating East and West Germany. Gain insights into a divided Germany at its open-air museum and see a section of the original wall with its security features. This afternoon, arrive in the Bavarian city of Nuremberg, once the unofficial capital of the Holy Roman Empire and today the economic, social and cultural capital of Franconia. During your orientation see the mighty castle ramparts and stand in the Hauptmarkt main square which is dominated by the impressive Frauenkirche, a great example of the Gothic brick-style architecture of the region. Spend the rest of your day at leisure indulging in the local specialty of grilled Nürnberger Rostbratwurst with sauerkraut.

Day 5 - On to Rothenberg and Heidelberg Dive Into Culture Make Travel Matter
Stroll through the narrow lanes of Rothenburg – its beautiful medieval center seemingly frozen in time and encircled by a fortified town wall that remains intact after centuries. Admire the beautiful market square, lined with half-timbered houses, and the Old Town Hall before traveling to Heidelberg, and perhaps have the chance to capture views of the ruins of Heidelberg Castle, as well as the baroque-style Old Town. Later, witness a Black Forest treasure as you Dive Into Culture and learn about the centuries-old craft of cuckoo clock making. The troubled history of this celebrated capital has for many years attracted tourists from around the world. It is estimated around 80% of Berlin was destroyed during the Second World War; landmarks like the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church stand as a lasting reminder of the mass destruction this city once endured. Perhaps one of Berlin's most famous landmarks is the Berlin Wall, the 'iron curtain' that divided this great city into two halves between 1961 and 1989. The East was governed by communism while the West was allowed to flourish under a democratic capitalist government. Even now, over a decade after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the differences between the former East and West are still very apparent. Berlin has an undeniable air of mystery that has always been and always will be a major draw for tourists from around the world.

Full Day Tour (10 - 11 hours) to Berlin - Shore Excursion to Berlin

Our English speaking driver will await you at the harbor of Rostock and takes you to Berlin. The duration of the drive is max 3 hours.
You will start the tour in Berlin at Charlottenburg palace where your personal guide is waiting for you and will show you the wonderful garden of the castle.
Afterwards you will start with the theme tour “Berlin the city of contrasts”:
The historical Berlin
includes the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, the boulevard Unter den Linden, the famous Gendarmenmarkt as well as Charlottenburg Palace, the largest and most beautiful Baroque palace in Berlin.
The cultural Berlin
includes the city's three opera houses, two concert halls, numerous theaters and museums as well as the unique Museum Island with five important museum-buildings and the Kultur-Forum, where one of the world's most important collections of European paintings from the 13th till the 19th century is shown.
The political Berlin
includes the government area around the Reichstag with the new Office of the Federal Chancellor and the Paul Löbe Building as well as the Embassy Quarter around Pariser Platz and Tiergarten.
The divided Berlin
Checkpoint Charlie, the former border crossing between East and West Berlin, reminds us of the long period which Berlin was a divided city.
The new Berlin
includes Potsdamer Platz – one of the most popular attractions with its mix of restaurants, stores, theaters, cinemas and business areas, which was predominantly designed by Sony and Daimler-Chrysler during the past 10 years.
The young Berlin
Features exciting night life around the Hackescher Markt, located in Berlin Mitte, the concentrated trendy scene from Oranienburger Straße and its side streets to the courtyard ensemble at Hackesche Höfe. This area is also known as the former Jewish Quarter the Centrum Judaicum/New Synagogue.
